Come see how we’re inspiring the next generation to learn, grow, and thrive one busy little bee at a time.

Our Story — The Heart Behind Busy Little Bees Asheville
Busy Little Bees was founded in 2006 in San Francisco, California, by Cynthia R Quezada Owings, a devoted mother who wanted more than just childcare she wanted a place where children could grow in love, health, and curiosity.
When Cynthia had her first child, she faced the same challenge many working parents do: finding care that truly nurtured both the heart and the mind. Determined to give her son the best start in life, she made a life-changing decision she left her corporate job and opened her own daycare.
What began as a mother’s mission quickly became a lifelong calling. Over the past 20 years, Cynthia and her family — including her son Nicholas, daughter Isabella, and youngest, Gianna have grown together through this journey. Today, with two children in college and one thriving in middle school in Asheville, North Carolina, Busy Little Bees continues to reflect the same love and dedication that started it all.
At Busy Little Bees Asheville, Cynthia understands the heart of every parent especially professional parents searching for a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for their children. Her mission remains the same:
To provide the highest quality of care, to build a strong foundation for each child’s growth, and to help them become confident, compassionate individuals who will shape the future.
Because at Busy Little Bees, we don’t just care for children we help them blossom.
